Tooth Repair with Dental Veneers

Dental veneers are an excellent solution if you’re dealing with crowded teeth, chips, wear, or areas of discoloration. These thin shells are affixed to the front surface of your teeth, effectively concealing any visible imperfections and promoting a straight, uniform appearance.

Veneers can be color-matched to your natural teeth and are applied with minimal discomfort. They are robust and long-lasting, providing years of service before needing replacement or repair.

At Blue Ridge Dental, each set of dental veneers is tailor-made to meet your specific requirements, ensuring the results you desire. We schedule two appointments for this procedure: the first to take impressions of your teeth, and the second to fit and fine-tune the veneers to your teeth.

How Do Dental Veneers Work?

Dental veneers are ultra-thin shells placed on the front surfaces of the teeth. Depending on the type of veneers used, it might be necessary to first prepare the teeth by removing a slight amount of enamel. Once affixed, veneers effectively cover visible imperfections and can correct alignment and spacing issues by adjusting their thickness.

The application process is straightforward, involving the preparation of the teeth followed by attachment using a robust dental adhesive.

Does The Process Hurt?

No, most patients experience minimal to no discomfort during this procedure. We administer a local anesthetic to ensure your comfort throughout. After the procedure, the majority of our patients report either no pain or only mild pain, which can typically be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers.

What Options Are Available?

There are two primary types of dental veneers: porcelain veneers and composite veneers, both excellent choices for enhancing your smile.

Composite veneers are created in-office using a tooth-colored resin that is directly applied to the teeth. They are generally more affordable and faster to apply than their porcelain counterparts and effectively address various aesthetic concerns.

Porcelain veneers, on the other hand, are custom-made from porcelain to precisely fit your teeth. These veneers are crafted in a laboratory and then delivered to our office, where we apply them to ensure a perfect fit. Porcelain veneers tend to last longer due to the durability of the material, offer a more natural appearance, and can correct more significant cosmetic issues, such as severe discoloration or misaligned teeth.
